Soon you\u2019ll reach the <strong data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"1802\">Park of the Ducal Villa of Rivalta<\/strong>, also known as the <em data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"1841\">Reggia di Rivalta<\/em> or <em data-start=\"1845\" data-end=\"1864\">Little Versailles<\/em>. Recently restored, the villa recalls the splendor of the 18th century, when the area belonged to the Duchy of Modena and Reggio. While visits to the interiors require advance booking, the large garden is open to the public.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2342\">The route continues along the cycle-pedestrian path, a favorite spot for locals who come here to walk or ride surrounded by greenery. Midway, during the warmer season, you\u2019ll find a kiosk with a bar and children\u2019s playground \u2013 perfect for a break.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2692\">Once you reach the <strong data-start=\"2363\" data-end=\"2391\">bridge over the Crostolo<\/strong>, where two statues originally from the Rivalta Park are located, you can either return along the same path or continue under the tree-lined boulevards leading straight into the heart of Reggio Emilia. In just a few minutes, you\u2019ll arrive at the city\u2019s charming historic squares, well worth a visit.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2694\" data-end=\"2716\">\ud83d\udc49 <strong data-start=\"2697\" data-end=\"2714\">Route details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2717\" data-end=\"2832\">\n<li data-start=\"2717\" data-end=\"2757\">\n<p data-start=\"2719\" data-end=\"2757\">Distance: approx. 18 km (round trip)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2758\" data-end=\"2788\">\n<p data-start=\"2760\" data-end=\"2788\">Elevation gain: 40 m total<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2789\" data-end=\"2832\">\n<p data-start=\"2791\" data-end=\"2832\">Difficulty: easy, suitable for everyone<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2834\" data-end=\"2940\">A flat and enjoyable ride, rich in nature and history, ideal for exploring Reggio Emilia at a slow pace.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"2947\" data-end=\"3013\">2) <strong data-start=\"2955\" data-end=\"3002\">Crostolo Park Cycle Route towards the Hills<\/strong> (**Easy)<\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"3015\" data-end=\"3131\">Unlike the city route, after a few kilometers from La Razza this path turns south, towards the first Reggio hills.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3133\" data-end=\"3467\">Immersed in nature, it soon reaches the picturesque <strong data-start=\"3185\" data-end=\"3206\">Vasca di Corbelli<\/strong>, a historic water basin that once supplied the fountains and water features of the Reggia di Rivalta. At its center is an islet with the small villa <em data-start=\"3356\" data-end=\"3372\">\u201cFuggi l\u2019Ozio\u201d<\/em>, formerly the Duke\u2019s hunting lodge and leisure retreat. A small refreshment point is nearby.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3469\" data-end=\"3731\">The route continues towards <strong data-start=\"3497\" data-end=\"3510\">Puianello<\/strong>, passing under the old bridge, and on to <strong data-start=\"3552\" data-end=\"3576\">Vezzano sul Crostolo<\/strong>. From here there\u2019s a beautiful view of the <strong data-start=\"4258\" data-end=\"4284\">Castello del Pi\u00f9 Bello<\/strong>, once the residence of renowned agronomist Count Filippo Re.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4349\" data-end=\"4524\">The descent leads back to Puianello, then either onto the Crostolo cycle path or past the <strong data-start=\"4439\" data-end=\"4455\">Ducal Palace<\/strong> (now home to the Ferrarini factory), before returning to La Razza.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4526\" data-end=\"4550\">\ud83d\udc49 <strong data-start=\"4529\" data-end=\"4548\">Variant details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"4551\" data-end=\"4655\">\n<li data-start=\"4551\" data-end=\"4578\">\n<p data-start=\"4553\" data-end=\"4578\">Distance: approx. 20 km<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4579\" data-end=\"4604\">\n<p data-start=\"4581\" data-end=\"4604\">Elevation gain: 100 m<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4605\" data-end=\"4655\">\n<p data-start=\"4607\" data-end=\"4655\">Difficulty: medium \u2013 short but demanding climb<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"4662\" data-end=\"4690\">3) <strong data-start=\"4670\" data-end=\"4688\">Scandiano Loop<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"4692\" data-end=\"4934\"><strong data-start=\"4692\" data-end=\"4717\">-Variant Pedemontana (<\/strong>* Medium)**<br data-start=\"4728\" data-end=\"4731\" \/>From La Razza head towards <strong data-start=\"4758\" data-end=\"4769\">Albinea<\/strong>, alternating between quiet roads and cycle paths, then continue along the <strong data-start=\"4844\" data-end=\"4868\">Pedemontana cycleway<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"4872\" data-end=\"4883\">Borzano<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"4888\" data-end=\"4896\">Iano<\/strong>. The route is varied and enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4936\" data-end=\"5117\">From Iano, ride to <strong data-start=\"4955\" data-end=\"4971\">C\u00e0 de Caroli<\/strong>, cross the <strong data-start=\"4983\" data-end=\"5003\">Tresinaro stream<\/strong>, and follow the cycle path on its right bank until you reach <strong data-start=\"5065\" data-end=\"5078\">Scandiano<\/strong>, the province\u2019s second largest town.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5119\" data-end=\"5396\">Scandiano is the birthplace of poet <strong data-start=\"5155\" data-end=\"5179\">Matteo Maria Boiardo<\/strong> and naturalist <strong data-start=\"5195\" data-end=\"5218\">Lazzaro Spallanzani<\/strong>, both honored with squares in the historic center. The town is welcoming and dominated by the impressive <strong data-start=\"5324\" data-end=\"5345\">Rocca dei Boiardo<\/strong>, which now hosts events and cultural activities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5398\" data-end=\"5700\"><strong data-start=\"5398\" data-end=\"5425\">Return via Pedemontana:<\/strong><br data-start=\"5425\" data-end=\"5428\" \/>Cross the Tresinaro again using a pedestrian bridge and head towards the <strong data-start=\"5501\" data-end=\"5525\">church of Pratissolo<\/strong>. Here, you must ride a short (600 m) section of the <strong data-start=\"5578\" data-end=\"5598\">Pedemontana road<\/strong> \u2013 the only part requiring attention due to traffic (an alternative variant is described elsewhere).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5702\" data-end=\"5892\">From the roundabout, follow country roads through the rural landscape of vineyards and fields.
